Description
Freeblown Antique CANDLESTICK Folded Foot and Rim, DOUBLE TEARDROP Stem 1800sBeautifully made antique glass candlestick, with a folded foot, bobeche rim, and candlecup rim.
This piece measures 10" tall, is 4.875" wide at the base, and the attached bobeche is 3.875" wide.
The glass is clear and bright, and there are no chips, cracks, or any other damage.
I noticed similar candlesticks in the book
Pittsburgh Glass 1797-1891
by Lowell Innes, although the "double teardrop" feature of my candlestick seems to be a unique one. See reference photo provided above.
I don't know if this is flint or simply leaded glass, but it is definitely of the period, and a superb piece. There's a hand-engraved number on the bottom - 554.
Under UV light, this emits a pale green color (see photo).
I've provided photos of every angle I could think of - but if you need more, just send me a message.
