    Description

Here we have a great early decanter attributed to the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company. This decanter was likely blown sometime between the 1820s-1830s. This mold is pretty difficult to find especially with "Rum" embossed. The body features many elaborate patterns that lead up to the ring on the neck. The neck tapers to a flared out lip which holds a period sunburst style stopper. The base has an open pontil scar from the blowing process that is surrounded by a series of lines / shapes. This decanter stands 8 5/8" without the stopper and about 10 5/8" with it. The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, bruises, pot stone issues, heavy wear, repairs, etc. Just some light spotty interior cloudiness along the interior of the base. The stopper fits pretty well and is a period stopper but I believe this decanter used a different style so it may not be the exact one that came with this bottle. A great tough to find decanter! If anyone has any questions please ask.
